9 SWEET AND SAVOURY WAYS TO USE FAIRWAY ASSURED COFFEE BEANS

With the launch of our exciting Fairway Assured coffee bean range, we’ve curated a collection of inspiring serving suggestions that highlight coffee’s versatility. Coffee is more than just a beverage! While coffee cake is a cherished classic, there are many other ways to infuse coffee into sweet and savoury dishes. With Fairway Assured coffee, you can create a wide variety of classic and innovative recipes that will delight your customers.

Coffee Drinks: From Classics to Contemporary

Espresso Martini

The espresso martini is a perfect pick-me-up drink, a sophisticated blend of espresso, vodka, and coffee liqueur. You can experiment with flavours by adding vanilla, caramel, or even peppermint vodka. A candy cane version of this can be made at Christmas time. If you wish to make your own, a cost-saving and sustainable homemade coffee liqueur can also be made from discarded coffee grounds and sugar.

Caramel Frappé

A refreshing and sweet treat, the caramel frappé combines strong coffee, milk, ice, and caramel syrup. For an impressive finish, top it with whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel and golden sugar sanding. You can also experiment with different flavoured syrups like hazelnut, chocolate, or mint.

Grapefruit Iced Americano

Who would have thought that coffee and grapefruit go well together? This unique drink blends the boldness of espresso with the tangy freshness of grapefruit. Pour pink grapefruit juice over ice and top with a chilled Americano (double espresso with cold water will cool down faster). This drink is not a regular combination, but it’s so delicious and refreshing. A slice of red or pink grapefruit gives the drink a nice finishing touch.

Sweet Treats with Coffee

Coffee Profiteroles

Transform Fairway Assured Profiteroles with a coffee twist. Mix a few drops of espresso with icing sugar and top each choux bun with coffee icing, finishing each with a coffee bean for decoration. These are delicious and can be served with hot or cold coffee.

Swedish Knots with Coffee-Soaked Raisins

Transform Fairway Assured Dough Balls into attractive Swedish knots by incorporating a paste made from coffee-soaked raisins, sugar, and butter. The sweet and slightly bitter combination is a match made in heaven.

Savoury Dishes with Coffee

In the UK, coffee is primarily used in sweet dishes and desserts. However, around the world, it plays a significant role in savoury cuisine. Countries like Vietnam, Ethiopia, the US, and those in South America incorporate coffee into various dishes. In the Southern United States, coffee is frequently added to BBQ rubs and sauces for meats such as brisket and pork. Similarly, in Brazil, coffee enhances stews and sauces, imparting a rich flavour akin to stout in a meat pie base.

Coffee-Rubbed Ribs

This is another dish that uses leftover coffee grounds. Instead of throwing them away, save them and create a coffee rub with the used ground coffee. Combine the coffee with Fairway Assured Garlic Salt, onion granules, and spices. Rub the mixture onto ribs and slow-cook to make them tender. Then coat them in Fairway Assured Sticky BBQ Sauce glaze for final baking and garnish them with Fairway Assured Sesame Seeds, sliced red chillies, and red onions. The coffee gives the ribs a real smoky and savoury, umami flavour. You won’t make spice rubs for meat without coffee once you’ve tried them.

Brazilian Beef Brisket and Coffee Pie

Infuse a traditional Brazilian beef brisket pie with the rich flavours of coffee. Use Fairway Assured Gravy to thicken the rich and spicy sauce. Instead of using cassava mash to the top for an easy twist, use Fairway Assured Mashed Potatoes and cheese to complement the robust coffee undertones in the beef filling. Top with Fairway Assured Grated Mature Cheddar.

Perfect Pairings with Coffee

Coffee and Waffle Meister Waffle Fingers

Pairing coffee with Waffle Meister’s waffle fingers is a winning combination. Waffle Meister is known for its authentic Belgian waffles, which are made from a traditional Liege secret recipe with pearl sugar in the batter. The sugar pearls caramelise during baking, giving the waffles a crispy outer layer and freshly cooked aroma. The rich, buttery waffles complement the deep flavours of a good cup of coffee, especially a mocha.

A mocha is a hot chocolate and coffee drink made with espresso, steamed milk, and chocolate and is often topped with whipped cream, chocolate curls, and chocolate sauce. Waffle Meister waffle fingers were made for dunking!

Coffee with Paninis or Tea Cakes

Enjoying a cup of Fairway coffee with one of Fairway Assured Sliced Grill Marked Panini or Fairway Assured Sliced Fruited Teacakes creates a comforting and satisfying experience. The savoury paninis balance well with the coffee, while the tea cakes offer a sweet counterpart.

Coffee’s versatility extends beyond the traditional cup, offering exciting opportunities in sweet and savoury dishes. Whether you’re shaking up an espresso martini, making coffee-rubbed ribs, or a Brazilian coffee pie, the Fairway Assured coffee bean range provides high-quality ingredients to bring your coffee creations to life. Enjoy the rich and diverse flavours that coffee can bring, Cook with coffee!
